Dr. Safani has practiced psychiatry for more than sixteen years and is triple board certified — in general adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and clinical informatics. He served on the full-time faculty of the UC Irvine School of Medicine, leaving as Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry, and continues to teach there as volunteer faculty, training the residents and fellows who will go on to practice in this community.

Dr. Safani has served as President of the Orange County Psychiatric Society and on several committees of the American Psychiatric Association. He has lectured widely on psychiatric care at the county, state, and national level.
