Dr. David Safani brings over 15 years of clinical expertise as a triple board-certified Adult, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Clinical Informaticist. His extensive experience encompasses a diverse range of healthcare settings, including outpatient clinics, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, residential programs, and inpatient hospitals.

A graduate of both UC Irvine School of Medicine and Paul Merage School of Business with a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) and Master of Business Administration (MBA), Dr. Safani’s passion for comprehensive care and understanding the broader healthcare landscape is reflected in this dual expertise.

Dr. Safani's dedication to specialized care for young patients led him to complete a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at UC Irvine School of Medicine. His pursuit of excellence has earned him prestigious accolades, including the Orange County Medical Associations’s Physicians of Excellence Awards and UC Irvine School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry Faculty of the Year.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Safani's leadership shines. He served as the President of the Orange County Psychiatric Society (OCPS) from 2018 to 2020, demonstrating his commitment to advancing psychiatric care in the community. His influence extends to the national stage as well, where he has served as a council member and advisor on prominent committees for organizations such as the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the American Medical Association (AMA). Dr. Safani's advocacy for mental health policy reform has taken him to Sacramento and Washington multiple times.

As a dedicated educator, Dr. Safani contributes to the field by remaining volunteer faculty at UC Irvine School of Medicine after serving 8 years as faculty and leaving as Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry. He imparts his knowledge to Psychiatry residents and fellows through insightful lectures and weekly supervision. His expertise has also been sought after by respected institutions like Children's Hospital, the American Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), and the American Association of Pediatrics (AAP), where he has delivered impactful presentations.
